Useful things to know before booking The Nook.

How many guests does The Nook sleep?

The Nook is a romantic countryside retreat designed for two guests, with one bedroom and plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy during your stay.

Is The Nook secluded?

Yes. The Nook sits in its own peaceful field setting surrounded by South Devon countryside, giving it a wonderfully private and secluded feel.

There are farms and properties within the wider surrounding area, so it isn't completely isolated, but there are no immediate next-door neighbours. Once you're at The Nook, it feels like you have an abundance of space around you.

How far is The Nook from the beach?

The beach is approximately one mile from The Nook and can be reached on foot. The route follows a country lane, which is narrow in places, so guests should take appropriate care when walking.

Can you walk to Hope Cove from The Nook?

Yes. Hope Cove is approximately a 40-minute walk from The Nook. The route takes you along country lanes, which can be narrow in places, but guests regularly make the journey on foot.

Does The Nook have an outdoor bath?

Yes. One of The Nook's most-loved features is its outdoor bath, set within the peaceful countryside surroundings.

It's a normal bath with hot water rather than a hot tub, so you simply fill it when you want to use it. It can be enjoyed throughout the year if you're happy with the outdoor temperature — wrap up warm, light the nearby fire pit and enjoy a long soak under the open sky.

Does The Nook have a wood burner?

It has two. There is a wood burner in the bedroom and another in the lounge, making The Nook particularly cosy for autumn and winter stays.

Plenty of wood is provided for the fires, so you can settle in, light the wood burners and enjoy them throughout your stay.

Are there fire pits outside?

Yes. There are two outdoor fire pits: one beside the outdoor bath and another next to the outdoor dining area.

They're perfect for making the most of The Nook's outdoor space as the evening draws in.

Is The Nook warm in winter?

Yes. The Nook has heating as well as two indoor wood burners, one in the bedroom and one in the lounge. Plenty of wood is provided, making it a cosy retreat for stays throughout the cooler months.

Does The Nook have a full kitchen?

Yes. Despite its rural setting, The Nook has a proper, fully equipped kitchen rather than a simple kitchenette, so you can comfortably cook and eat at the property during your stay.

Does The Nook have Wi-Fi?

Yes. The Nook has Wi-Fi, so you can stay connected during your countryside escape.

Is The Nook dog-friendly?

Yes. The Nook welcomes up to two dogs, so you can bring them along for your South Devon break.

With its spacious field setting and countryside location, there's plenty of outdoor space around you. Guests should, however, supervise their dogs appropriately and not assume that the wider surroundings are completely enclosed.

Does The Nook have parking?

Yes. There is an abundance of parking at The Nook, so parking is very easy for guests.

Does The Nook have EV charging?

There is currently no dedicated EV charger at The Nook, so guests with an electric vehicle should plan to use public charging facilities during their stay.

Is The Nook suitable for a romantic break?

Absolutely. The Nook has been designed as a retreat for two, with a secluded countryside setting, outdoor bath, two wood burners, fire pits and plenty of space to slow down and switch off.

You're surrounded by countryside while still being close enough to walk to the beach and Hope Cove, giving you the best of both worlds.

Is The Nook suitable for a winter break?

Yes. The Nook isn't just a summer retreat. It has heating, two wood burners and plenty of wood provided, making it particularly cosy during autumn and winter.

The outdoor bath can also be used year-round if the weather suits you — light the nearby fire pit, wrap up warm afterwards and enjoy the quieter side of the South Devon coast.

Can we explore the area on foot?

Yes. The Nook is well placed for guests who enjoy walking. The beach is approximately one mile away and Hope Cove is around a 40-minute walk.

The surrounding country lanes can be narrow, so appropriate care should be taken when walking, particularly after dark.

How long can we stay at The Nook?

The Nook currently has a minimum stay of three nights, making it suitable for anything from a long weekend to a longer countryside escape.
